HRI Workshop: Designing Functional Clothes for Robots
This workshop aimed to gather designers, researchers, academics and practitioners with a background in human-robot interaction design, fashion design, psychology, design, and design research to discuss a future of clothes for robots. Half the workshop consisted of hands on design (materials list provided on website), while the other half was discussion-based. Please check out the slides for more details on the activities!
I led this workshop with Kari Love (costumer and soft roboticist), Alexandra Bremers (HRI design researcher), AJ Parry (art practitioner), Ray LC (design professor), Bolor Amgalan (fashion professor), Jen Liu (information science PhD candidate), Wendy Ju (design professor). The workshop proposal was published in the HRI 2021 Companion.
